Law Ruler Integration Guide: 1 of 2 - Create Custom Field Template by Case Type

Welcome! This guide will help you fill out your Law Ruler Integration Mapping Sheet so Kayse can sync your data smoothly. No technical experience needed β€” we keep it simple! πŸ™Œ

πŸ”§ Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

Step 1: Add Your API Key & Endpoint

  1. Log in to Law Ruler.
  2. Go to Setup β†’ Third-Party Integrations.
  3. Copy your API Key and API Endpoint.
  4. Open your integration template.
  5. Paste both at the top of the sheet.
  6. Remove any example text that came with the template.

πŸ’‘ Tip: These two fields tell Kayse how to connect to your Law Ruler account.

πŸ“ Step 2: Add Your Case Type

Above the API info, type the Law Ruler Case Type you're mapping.

πŸ‘‰ You’ll complete one sheet per case type.

Step 3: Find & Copy Your Law Ruler Fields

To map your fields:

  1. In Law Ruler, go to: Setup β†’ Intake/Case Form Builder
  2. Select the Case Type you’re working on.
  3. Click each field you want Kayse to use β€” one at a time.
  4. Copy the field information.

Law Ruler has two types of fields:

🟦 Default Fields

These are built-in system fields. On your sheet:

  1. Type "Default Field" (example: Default Field)
  2. Friendly question name (example: What is your First Name?)

➑️ You do NOT need to create custom fields for any Default Fields.

🟩 Custom Fields

These are fields your team created. You must copy two things:

  1. Custom field ID (example: Custom1234)
  2. Friendly question name (example: Did you take Zantac?)

➑️ Add both to your sheet.

Step 4: Only Add the Fields You Need

You can include as few or as many fields as you want.

βœ” Add only fields you want Kayse to interact with ❌ Don’t include status fields β€” those are handled separately ❌ Remove all < > brackets from the template

Step 5: Repeat for Each Case Type

Continue until all fields for that Case Type are mapped. Then repeat the process if you have more Case Types.

Take your time β€” there’s no limit to how many fields you can map! 🧠✨

Step 6: Send Your Sheet to the Kayse Team

Once finished, send your completed sheet to the Kayse Team so we can finalize your integration.πŸš€
