🔑 Roles and Permissions
Roles control what each person can see and do in a company.
| Role | What They Can Do |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full access to company features and settings |
| User | Day-to-day case work and messaging, with optional case-type limits via scopes |
🧩 Scopes (Case-Type Access)
A scope is a named group of one or more case types. Assign scopes to users with role User to limit what case-type data they can access.
Create or Edit a Scope
- Go to Settings → Company → Scopes
- Click New
- Enter a scope name
- Select one or more case types
- Click Add
To edit or delete a scope, use the ⋮ menu on the scope row.
Assign Scopes to a User
- Go to Settings → Company → Staff
- Edit a member
- Set role to User (if not already)
- Choose one or more items in the Scopes field
- Click Update
How Scope Access Works
- A user can have multiple scopes
- Effective access is the union of case types from all assigned scopes
- Data for unassigned case types is hidden for scoped users
- If role changes away from User, scope assignments are removed
