Import Existing Custom Fields into a Case Type
Use Import Custom Fields when you already have custom fields in Kayse and want to attach them to a specific case type.
This action does not upload fields from a spreadsheet and does not pull field definitions from LawRuler or SmartAdvocate. It only adds existing Kayse custom fields to the selected case type.
When to use it
Use this when:
- a custom field already exists in your company
- you want that field to appear on one more case type
- you want the field to be available later in an integration's CRM Mappings tab
How to import existing custom fields
- Go to Company Settings -> Case Types
- Open the case type you want to update
- In Custom Fields, click Import Custom Fields
- Search for the existing field you want to add
- Select one or more fields
- Click Import
Fields already attached to the current case type are excluded from the list.
What happens next
After import:
- the selected custom fields are attached to that case type
- they can be used anywhere that case type relies on custom fields
- they become available in the CRM Mappings tab of the relevant integration (Settings → Integrations → SmartAdvocate or Law Ruler)
