Import Existing Custom Fields into a Case Type

Use Import Custom Fields when you already have custom fields in Kayse and want to attach them to a specific case type.

This action does not upload fields from a spreadsheet and does not pull field definitions from LawRuler or SmartAdvocate. It only adds existing Kayse custom fields to the selected case type.

When to use it

Use this when:

  • a custom field already exists in your company
  • you want that field to appear on one more case type
  • you want the field to be available later in an integration's CRM Mappings tab

How to import existing custom fields

  1. Go to Company Settings -> Case Types
  2. Open the case type you want to update
  3. In Custom Fields, click Import Custom Fields
  4. Search for the existing field you want to add
  5. Select one or more fields
  6. Click Import

Fields already attached to the current case type are excluded from the list.

What happens next

After import:

  • the selected custom fields are attached to that case type
  • they can be used anywhere that case type relies on custom fields
  • they become available in the CRM Mappings tab of the relevant integration (Settings → Integrations → SmartAdvocate or Law Ruler)

Turn unreachable clients into paid cases.
