Tasks on the client profile
When you open an contact profile, use the Tasks tab to work every case task that involves this client in one place—without jumping between cases. 📋
Open the tab
- Go to Contacts and open a contact, or open a client from a case.
- At the top of the profile, click Tasks (between Messages and Calls).
What you see
The board uses the same column idea as the Tasks view on a case:
| Column | What it includes |
|---|---|
| To Do | Tasks not yet completed, including overdue items |
| Completed | Finished tasks |
| Skipped | Tasks marked as skipped |
- Search — Use the search box to filter tasks by what you type (results update after a short pause).
- Case name — Each task shows the related case. Follow the case link to open that case with the Tasks tab when you need the full case context.
- Load more — If a column has more tasks than fit in the first page, use load more at the bottom of that column when it appears.
Update task status
You can drag a task from one column to another to change its status (for example, move from To Do to Completed), when you have permission to change that task.
Fill in a task value (staff)
For tasks that collect an answer in the app (text, choice, date, and similar field types—not file upload only), when the task is still To Do (including overdue):
- Open the ⋮ (more) menu on the task card.
- Click Fill Task.
- Enter the answer in the dialog and save.
- If the task is still To Do or overdue, the primary action is usually Save & Complete so the response is stored and the task is marked complete.
- For other states, you may see Save Value to store the response without changing how you use the rest of the workflow.
File upload tasks (including document uploads and similar) are not completed inside this dialog. The product explains that you can add files from the contact’s Main info tab when that applies, or use Send task link on the case so the client uploads files in the portal or app.
View the full task
From the task ⋮ menu, choose View Task for a read-only view of the full task and instructions—similar to previewing a task from a case.
